Regular Meetings

Pack Meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, from 6:20-7:30pm. All dens meet together. Skits and similar activities are presented by the scouts and relate to a monthly theme as determined by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). The boys also receive recognition for any achievements accomplished during the preceding month.

Den Meetings are held on all other Tuesday evenings, from 6:30-7:30pm. Scouts meet with their own den and complete activities that help them with the achievements required to progress toward the next rank.

Blue and Gold Banquet

The Blue and Gold Banquet is held late in February, in place of the February Pack meeting. Each den presents a skit and scouts who have completed the work required to advance to the next rank are recognized at this time. Those 5th grade boys who have completed their Cub Scout achievements cross over to become Boy Scouts. The families celebrate by sharing a meal. Cubs scouts work with their parents to create a cake to bring to the event and enter in the cake competition.

Pinewood Derby

The Pack 94 Pinewood Derby is held each year on a Saturday in March. The top 4 cars in Race and Show advance to the Council Derby Championships in April.

The pack provides a car kit for each scout. Scouts must work on the car with an adult outside of regular pack activities. The pack hosts a car clinic in January for those would would like additional tips and assistance. There are many online sites with car design ideas as well.

We have special races for siblings and adults, too! (You have to purchase your own kits for those races.)

Pack Hikes

The Pack 94 Hiking Club participates in monthly hikes, typically on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 1:00pm. Scouts earn awards by participating in the hikes. A new hiker first earns his hiking staff and then begins to earn awards to add to his staff. See the Pack 94 calendar for hike dates and locations. Some of these hikes are combined with Pack 94 family campouts.

Pack Family Campouts

Pack 94 hosts family campouts at local state parks a different times during the year. The pack covers the fees for camp site rental and reservations.

Summer Camps

Our pack participates in a number of summer camps sponsored by the Prairielands Council. These camps are optional and scouts may participate in as many camp events as they like. Camps are not just fun; they provide a chance for scouts to work on advancements and awards. For more information on these camps and downloadable registration and health forms, visit the Prairielands Council Web Site.

Family Fun Fest. This weekend camp at Camp Drake is a family event. The schedule is open so scouts and their families can choose the activities they would like to do and when they would like to do them. Open activities inlude archery, boating, swimming, BB guns, fishing, handicrafts and evening campfires.

Day Camps. Pack 94 will participate in two day camps this year: Urbana and Paxton. The Urbana camp is a traditional day camp. The Paxton event will be in the evening.

Adventure Camp. This 4 day/3 night overnight camp is held at Camp Drake. Wolves, Bears and Webelos are all welcome at Adventure Camp. The event is particularly useful for Webelos; they can work on achievements that can only be done in a certified program such as this camp.

Parent and Pal WeekendThe Parent & Pal weekend is for scouts and their parents or other close adults. The focus of the weekend is to enrich the relationship between the scout and his parents. It is not a family camp; the only children who may attend are current Cub Scouts.

The schedule is open, allowing the scouts and parents to choose which activities they would like to do and when they would like to do them. Open activities include boating, swimming, archery and BB guns. There will be demonstration areas for outdoor skills and nature identification and afternoon outdoor games and skill sessions.
